Wapakoneta has telecommunication advantages of few communities its size. Thanks to the innovative efforts and capital investments of TSC, our local telecom provider, our businesses have access to these services:
Broadband with high-bandwidth information at amazing bi-directional speeds - wireless service is also currently available.
iCentrex providing basic and advanced phone services over the same network technology that powers Internet and company Intranet connections. With iCentrex WebPortal, use the same web browser to access Voicemail, Faxes, view call records, and make a call.
MetroEthernet provides initial speeds available to all customers at 10Mbps and can be upgraded to IGbps. The fiber optic cabling is already in place. MetroEthernet utilizes existing network technology, connecting each computer to the system with a standard network card, without relying on expensive switching equipment. The system allows opportunities for voice, data, and video transmissions over the same Ethernet link and provides unparalleled security for your business systems.
TSC, founded in Wapakoneta in 1895, is one of Ohio's premier regional partners in expanding broadband coverage throughout the state. TSC began installing fiber optic cable throughout the Wapakoneta area more than a decade ago. Today the company remains on the cutting edge of telecommunications.

Wapakoneta is one of Ohio's 81 public power communities. In other words, our local customers - residential and businesses - own the electric company. As a community, we determine our electric strategy. How's that for an innovative approach? No big corporation a thousand miles away is setting price and policy. We decide where we buy our power and how it's generated - coal, gas, hydro, wind. We establish the rates, fees, and distribution systems. Our service is exceptional. Our industrial leaders meet regularly with the electric department managers. If there is a problem, you know exactly who to call and where their office is. Our system takes the risk out of electric supply.
We are planning for the future. For example, the City of Wapakoneta provides electricity to its West Central Ohio Industrial Center at I-75 and US 33. The City currently provides two delivery voltages to the site: 1) 6.5MW capacity 69,000V/12.470 substation and 2) 10MW capacity 69,000V transmission line.
